Venture’s Innovative Driver technology
At Venture Audio, we are renowned for our transparent sound and lifelike musical performance. From the very beginning, our mission has been to push the boundaries of innovation to achieve the highest level of audio fidelity in our loudspeakers.
A defining feature of Venture speakers is our first-order crossover design, which allows for a more natural, phase-coherent sound. However, achieving optimal performance with first-order crossovers requires exceptional driver precision and control. This is why, in 2001, our founder and CEO, Didi, took a bold step—designing Venture’s own proprietary drivers to perfectly integrate with our crossover filters.
By developing drivers to our exacting specifications, we have complete control over their response, speed, and accuracy, ensuring that our filters work in harmony with them. This synergy is what creates the neutral, transparent, and coherent sound signature that Venture is known for.
Our Three Types of Dynamic Drivers
Venture’s proprietary driver technology is the result of advanced materials research and precision engineering. Each driver type is carefully designed to optimize performance in our first-order crossover loudspeakers:
1. Carbon Fiber Graphite Composite (CFGC) Driver
This driver features long carbon fibers embedded in a graphite composite cone, arranged in a proprietary pattern. The long fibers provide the necessary stiffness for the cone to act as a precise piston in its primary oscillating motion.
Perfect for First-Order Crossovers: Its accuracy and speed allow for seamless integration with our custom filters.
Lightweight & Fast: Carbon fibers have an extremely low mass, reducing cone weight.
Superior Dynamics & Resolution: Results in exceptional transient response, accuracy, and natural sound reproduction.
The CFGC driver plays a crucial role in delivering the highly dynamic and phase-coherent performance of Venture loudspeakers.
2. Abaca Graphite Composite (AGC) Driver
This driver utilizes Abaca pulp to form the graphite composite matrix. The long Abaca fibers, sourced from the stems of the Abaca tree (native to the Philippines), enhance the driver’s performance.
Designed for Venture’s Crossover System: Maintains precise phase alignment in first-order filters.
Similar Performance to CFGC: Provides stiffness, durability, and low mass, ensuring fast and natural sound reproduction.
Highly Durable & Flexible: Abaca is used in security and specialized paper due to its resilience and strength.
The AGC driver maintains Venture’s hallmark sound clarity and coherence, making it an ideal match for our first-order crossover loudspeakers.
3. Beryllium Tweeter (for Quantum Active Series)
The newest addition to Venture’s driver lineup is the Beryllium Tweeter, currently featured in the Quantum Active speaker series.
Exceptionally High SPL: Capable of achieving over 100 dB/2.83V—the only tweeter in the world to do so.
Optimized for First-Order Crossovers: Delivers smooth, detailed highs while maintaining phase coherence.
Ultra-Precision High Frequencies: Beryllium’s properties allow for superior transient response and resolution.
This cutting-edge tweeter represents Venture’s continued pursuit of perfection, ensuring that even the highest frequencies are reproduced with absolute accuracy.
A Unique Approach to Speaker Design
By developing our own drivers, Venture Audio is not bound by the limitations of third-party components. Instead, we have full control over the way our drivers interact with our first-order crossovers, resulting in a truly phase-coherent, natural, and transparent sound signature. This seamless integration is what sets Venture speakers apart.
